Westmount Project Progress Round 2

March is going to be a busy month as we wrap up the renovation and get this place ready for our clients to move in. They are understandably eager to get out of their tiny rental and into the house, and we can’t wait to welcome them home.

Mud Room – Before

This cozy little space on the side of the house will be a key space for the kids to come home to after a busy day at school. Our goal is to have it feel stylish, welcoming, and most importantly functional and organized (i.e. baskets and hooks for school bags and outdoor wear).

Breakfast Room – Before

Screen Shot 2018-03-06 at 4.01.38 PM.pngThis window! We fell in love with this room after seeing how much light pours through the skylight and this absolutely show-stopping library window. This room is situated off the kitchen and will be one of the most used rooms in the house, so we want it to be stunning, of course, but also family friendly and functional.

Here’s a snapshot of our initial design ideas for this space. Buffet is from LD Shoppe. Table Lamp is from LD Shoppe. Vases From LD Shoppe. Wallpaper is from Milton & King. Table is from LD Shoppe. End chairs from Serena & Lily. Dining chairs from Serena & Lily. Area Rug is from LD Shoppe.

Entryway – Before

The main entrance was encased in smoked mirror, and while I’m sure it was fabulous in its day, the look was a tad 80s for this 2018 family. It will see a new life with a dramatic black door and fun wallpaper, ready to welcome any guest passing through and set the tone for the entire house.

Powder Room – Before

The powder room is small on space (note the funky corner sink) but not on charm, and will be freshly wallpapered, accessorized, and photo ready in no time!

Living Room – Before

With its architectural charm and classic good looks, the formal living room is the cherry on top of this cake. To accentuate to its grandeur, we’re adding a fresh coat of paint, new window coverings, decorative moulding, and a centred pendant over the seating area.

Main Floor Den – Before

This little gem, otherwise known as the main floor den, is nestled off the main living room and will be a more cozy, casual oasis for snowstorm snuggles and movie watching.

Dining Room – Before

The dining room will welcome you as visual dessert. We’re going for a slightly more modern feel in here but the room will be anchored by a classic trestle dining table. We can’t wait to see the oversized custom light fixture we designed for over the table!

Staircase – Before

The foyer and stairwell are literally the heart of the home in this house, but the existing setup is pretty underwhelming. It’s getting fresh statement lighting, a brand new staircase, and floor-to-ceiling wall mouldings. Transitional spaces can sometimes have the most impact and should always be given just as much love as main rooms.
