Over the years we had heard such amazing things about Austin, Texas. So when an opportunity came up to visit this past June, we couldn’t pass it up. We had been eyeing the Dallas trade market for some time and decided to pull the trigger this year, and we added a few days before the show to make time for stops in Austin and Waco.
Soon after we touched down in the Lone Star State, we visited the Central Standard Diner located in the South Congress hotel. From start to finish this place was the tops! Modern design and delicious food. Highly recommend.
Every Monday (or almost every Monday) each of our team members share a photo that’s inspiring them. This week we decided to focus on fireplaces!
Designer: Unknown (Please comment if you know!)
Sacha: The simple painted out fireplace is gorgeous but it’s really the styling that’s speaking to me. Different size and finish frames are a perfect way to accentuate this typical focal point.
We’re pretty proud of our true-north strong and free roots around the Leclair Decor offices, which just happen to be situated in Canada’s capital city of Ottawa. From coast to coast, Canada is diverse in its landscape, people, cultures and traditions and we can’t help but be inspired!
Whether you’re planning to celebrate the Canada Day long weekend by heading to a cottage or lounging in your backyard with a Ceasar in hand, we’ve put together our top picks from LD Shoppe and beyond to help make your indoor space all the more classically Canadian. Who wouldn’t want a little more of that modern, laid-back style we’re so well known for?
To make this long weekend even sweeter, we’re offering 20% off sitewide at LD Shoppe ALL weekend long. I think they call that killing it with Canadian kindness 😉

Picking a paint colour can be challenging to say the least. There are so many variables that can impact how a colour will look in a space, not limited to artificial and natural light, time of day, furniture, flooring, etc. While we definitely try new colours all the time, it’s nice to have a few favourites we can rely on to work in almost any space.
See our guide below and let us know what some of your favourites are in the comment section.
Design: Amber Interiors
Grace: I can’t fully put my finger on why, but I am always SO attracted to white and bright with pops of bold colour for kids’ rooms. This one by the always on point Amber Interiors is softened by some boho textures and it’s pretty much perfection.

Every week each member of our team picks one photo that’s inspiring them to share with our readers. This week’s theme is kitchens!
Sacha: I’m usually drawn to dark counters but this design may sway my opinion. I’ve also really been into minimalistic hood fans lately. Sometimes less is more?
We are thrilled and humbled that one of our favourite brands out of Portland, Oregon asked to feature us in their designer spotlight series! Read the interview HERE.
Melissa: It’s no secret that I love black and white and exteriors are no exception! There’s something timeless about this colour combo that I’m drawn to. Fun fact my childhood home was a black and white farmhouse and a place that will forever hold some of my favourite memories. Hopefully, our house will be that for our kids! This place is all kinds of amazing, with its oversized windows and beautiful modern details mixed with classic elements throughout.
